Pest Service Terms in North Carolina

Last Updated: 10/25/2026

What Our Pest Service Covers

Last updated: October 2026

These terms apply to pest control work North Carolina Pest Pros agrees to perform at the service address. The written estimate, service plan, or work order identifies the pests, treatment areas, methods, and any preparation or follow-up included. Work outside that description such as wildlife removal, repairs, cleanup, exclusion construction, or treatment for a different pest requires a separate agreement before we begin.

We perform regulated work under applicable North Carolina requirements, including the Structural Pest Control Act, Chapter 106, Article 4C; the North Carolina Pesticide Law of 1971, Chapter 143, Article 52; and applicator licensing rules in 2 NCAC 09L. Pesticides are used according to their EPA-registered labels and FIFRA directions.

We follow applicable OSHA hazard communication requirements, 29 CFR 1910.1200, and pesticide container and disposal rules. Relevant agencies include the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and, for wildlife matters, the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. Environmental issues may involve the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality.

Appointments, Changes, and Cancellations

Appointments are arranged by phone, email, or another method we make available. We will confirm the planned service window and any access or preparation instructions. Please provide safe access to the agreed treatment areas and tell us about relevant changes, including new pest activity, restricted areas, pets, or occupants who may need special precautions.

If you need to cancel or move a visit, contact us as soon as possible and before the scheduled arrival when you can. Any cancellation charge or missed-appointment fee applies only if it was disclosed and accepted as part of your service agreement. Weather, safety concerns, access problems, or other conditions may require us to reschedule; we will contact you to arrange another time.

The technician will not add work beyond the approved scope without your authorization. If inspection shows that a different method, treatment area, or service is needed, we will explain the proposed change and any added cost. Work proceeds only after you approve the change.

Written Estimates and Payment Terms

An estimate describes the work proposed, its price, and any stated conditions or limitations. It is based on the information available at the time and may need revision if an inspection reveals different pest activity, access limits, or conditions that change the work required. An estimate is not approval to perform additional services; we will explain material changes and obtain your approval before proceeding.

Payment is due as stated in the estimate, service plan, invoice, or other agreement you accept. If the agreement does not specify a different time, payment is due upon completion of the visit. Applicable taxes or other disclosed charges will appear in the quote or invoice. We do not promise financing or prices not shown in your written estimate.

Please raise a billing question promptly and include the invoice or service date so we can review it. A billing question does not change the agreed payment terms unless we confirm a different arrangement in writing. These terms do not limit any rights you may have under applicable law.

What to Expect About Service Guarantees

Any warranty, retreatment commitment, or other service guarantee applies only when it is expressly stated in your written estimate, service plan, or work order. That document controls the covered pest, service area, duration, follow-up steps, and any conditions. These general terms do not create a warranty or promise a particular result, and no standard duration is stated here.

Coverage may depend on following preparation and safety instructions, maintaining access to treated areas, and reporting continued activity within the period and by the method described in your agreement. A guarantee may not cover a different pest, a new infestation, untreated areas, or conditions outside the agreed work. Changes to the property or conditions that allow pests to enter may also affect coverage if the written agreement says so.

Contact us if you believe covered activity continues. We will review the service record and the written terms that apply. Nothing in this section removes protections or duties that cannot legally be waived.

Responsibility and Limits on Claims

To the extent allowed by law, North Carolina Pest Pros is not responsible for pre-existing damage, hidden conditions, or losses unrelated to the work we agreed to perform. We are also not responsible for damage caused by a customer’s failure to follow written preparation, reentry, or safety instructions, except where applicable law provides otherwise. Any limitation of liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim, where that limit is permitted by law.

These terms do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, or rights and remedies under the North Carolina Structural Pest Control Act, Chapter 106, Article 4C, or the North Carolina Pesticide Law of 1971, Chapter 143, Article 52. Our work remains subject to applicable applicator licensing rules in 2 NCAC 09L and EPA-registered pesticide label directions under FIFRA.

Applicable OSHA hazard communication and pesticide container requirements also remain in force. If a term conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, that requirement controls.
